The Baldwin Series

  • Manila Pianos Inc. Makati City, NCR, 1232 Philippines (map)

Brought to you by MTNA Philippines and Manila Pianos Inc., The Baldwin Series presents a special solo recital by Jiahn C. Aseneta, a Grade 12 student at St. Dominic College of Batanes, Inc. This recital showcases emerging talent from Batanes and features a rich program of vocal and instrumental artistry.

The program includes a special appearance by Coro de Sta. Cecilia under the direction of Maestro Christopher Borela, bringing choral depth and local musical tradition to the evening. String color and lyrical nuance will be provided by Strings of Hope Batanes violinists Shaina Cielo, Mariella Abad, and Gregory Elacion. Adding further distinction, Ivatan soprano Nicole Rasco Adri — a current member of the Philippine Madrigal Singers — joins the lineup, lending her acclaimed vocal presence.

This event celebrates musical excellence and community: a platform where student artistry, accomplished ensembles, and distinguished soloists converge. Attendees can expect a thoughtfully curated program combining solo piano repertoire, choral works, and chamber collaborations that highlight both technical mastery and expressive storytelling. Presented on a Baldwin instrument, the recital emphasizes quality sound and artistic refinement, reflecting the shared commitment of MTNA Philippines and Manila Pianos Inc. to nurture the next generation of Filipino musicians and to elevate the cultural life of Batanes and beyond.

The Baldwin SF is a legendary semi-concert grand piano, revered for its bold American tone, remarkable sustain, and powerful projection. Measuring 7 feet in length, the SF was Baldwin’s flagship before the introduction of the SD-10, and it remains a favorite among professional pianists, conservatories, and concert venues.

Built in the USA, this Baldwin SF (Serial No. 253229) carries the hallmarks of the golden era of Baldwin craftsmanship — a robust rim, responsive action, and a warm yet commanding tonal presence. With its ability to deliver both lyrical expressiveness and orchestral power, it is equally at home in solo recitals, chamber performances, and large venues.

Restored and performance-ready, this Baldwin SF represents not only a powerful musical instrument but also a lasting piece of American piano history.
